BetterSuite ist für Teams gebaut, die On-Demand als Geschäft verstehen – nicht als Feature.
Ridy at $399 and BetterTaxi's Source licence at $49,999 are not two prices for the same thing. A BetterTaxi vs Ridy comparison has three purchases in it. Two are licences to code you run yourself: Ridy's, and BetterTaxi's Source licence, which is for a company with its own platform team. The third is a hosted taxi dispatch platform that we run for you, at $49 a month plus 1.9% of completed fares. Which one fits depends on whether you have developers.
We make both products: Ridy came first, in 2018, and BetterTaxi is its successor. Every price here is in US dollars and was read on 10 October 2026.

Ridy's two prices are two different licences. The $399 Regular licence covers a product "which end users are not charged for". Ridy's CodeCanyon listing says an Extended licence "is required for commercial release or monetization", and that one is $1,699: choose Extended in the listing's price box to see it. If you charge riders, $1,699 is the Ridy price to compare.
Neither figure buys ownership. Like any CodeCanyon taxi booking app, Ridy is sold under Envato's licence terms, which state: "The author of the Item retains ownership of the Item". The Extended licence says the same. What you get is the right to use and change the code in one product.
BetterTaxi's Source licence is a licence as well, and a wider one: the full source to change as you need, the rights to your own changes, a year of updates and six months of help putting it into production.
The larger difference in BetterTaxi vs Ridy comes after the purchase. When you buy the code, you also take on the job of running it. Ridy's listing says so: the product is "intended for developers familiar with Flutter and Linux server environments".
Here is what its own pages leave to you:
None of this is a fault in Ridy. It is what buying ride hailing app source code means, and BetterTaxi's Source licence asks more of your team: the databases, monitoring and deployments of a larger system. It does not ask for a map key: our own map engine comes with the source, and a provider key is optional. In our experience, the Ridy buyers who did well had two things in common: developers on staff and a budget for running costs. That is one reason BetterTaxi's main plan is hosted.
BetterTaxi's hosted plan is $49 a month plus 1.9% of completed fares, cash rides included. We do not take the fee out of each fare: your riders pay your own payment processor, and the 1.9% comes on the monthly invoice. We run the servers, apply the updates and include the maps: no map key, no map bill.
At 1,000 rides a month and an average fare of $10, that is $190 plus $49: $239 for the month. At 5,000 rides it is $999. Set against the lines Ridy's pages print, that is the dearer month: theirs are a $24 server and, for most buyers, no Google bill. The line they put no price on is the developers' time.
Two costs sit outside the plan, and both are yours on Ridy too:
Apps under your own name are a third, and optional. By default your riders and drivers use the web apps or the shared BetterSuite apps. A store listing of your own adds Apple's $99 a year and Google's one-time $25, plus our publishing add-on at $799 to set up and $99 a month per business type.
The hosted plan does not suit everyone. The fee grows with your fares, so you learn each month's total only when the month ends. You also do not hold the code. You can try it for 14 days, and your data can be exported to a self-hosted licence later.
If you already run Ridy, the guide to migrating from Ridy covers moving your data across. A Ridy purchase made before 2026 counts as credit on the hosted plan, for the amount you paid: enter your purchase code when you choose your plan.
The difference you feel most is dispatch. Ridy has one dispatch mode: its listing calls it "Broadcast Only", which means each request goes to several nearby drivers at the same time.
BetterTaxi's dispatch is a set of choices: broadcast or sequential — one driver at a time — radius expansion, a fallback to the other mode, a minimum driver score, a limit to the best few drivers, automatic rebooking by customer tier and, in sequential mode, skipping drivers already tried. Those switches alone give 240 combinations, before a single number is set: search radius, wave size, timeouts, and the weight of distance, rating, idle time and cancellation rate in ranking drivers.
You can keep several configurations side by side, split new rides between them and compare how drivers and riders respond. Every saved change is a version you can restore. The fleet setup guide has every setting.
On the rest the two tie: regions, per-service pricing, coupons, wallets and staff roles are in both.
A percentage stops being cheap at volume. At 5,000 rides a month and a $10 fare, the 1.9% adds up to the Source licence's $49,999 in about four and a half years. At 1,000 rides it takes about 22. We also sell a Binary licence at $4,999 — self-hosted, no fee per ride, with the source for the apps but not the backend — which the fee reaches in about five months at 5,000 rides. These sums leave out the servers and people you would then pay for, and the yearly renewal that keeps updates coming after the first year.
So BetterTaxi vs Ridy comes down to the team you have:
With Ridy, yes: the source is the product. On BetterTaxi's hosted plan, no. The Source licence includes the full source, and the Binary licence includes the source for the apps but not for the backend.
On Ridy and on either self-hosted BetterTaxi licence, you are: your team runs the servers and applies each update. On BetterTaxi's hosted plan, we do both.
On code you run yourself, you pay for a server, developer time, an SMS provider and your payment processor's fees, plus map calls beyond Google's free tier where the maps are Google's. On BetterTaxi's hosted plan, $49 a month plus 1.9% of completed fares takes the place of the server, the developer time and the map calls. The SMS provider and the processor's fees stay yours.
Only the licence is free. With open source taxi dispatch software you still pay for the server, the developers and the map account, as with any code you run yourself. Neither Ridy nor BetterTaxi is open source: both are paid licences.
If you have weighed BetterTaxi vs Ridy and the hosted plan is the one that fits, the pricing page has the plan and its 14-day trial.
