BetterSuitevs.Cab9

One of These Vendors Has a Fleet Among Its Owners.

Cab9 is a well-liked British dispatch platform with integrations no one outside the UK can match — City Fleet, Get Taxi, Minicabit, CMAC, What3Words. It also publishes no price and no billing model, and since 3 June 2026 a private hire operator has held an undisclosed stake in it. BetterTaxi publishes every tier, operates no fleet of its own, and will sell you the source code.

Quick Verdict

It Comes Down to What You Can See.

The two products do similar things. What you can find out about them before signing is not similar at all.

Recommended
BetterTaxi

BetterTaxi

A white-label ride-hailing platform with its prices on a public page, built by a company that sells software and runs no taxis.

  • Best for: reading the price before you book a demo
  • Best for: operators who want no fleet owner anywhere on the cap table
  • Best for: adding delivery, parking or bookings without a second vendor

Consider: the hosted plan takes 1.9% of each completed fare on top of its monthly fee. We also have nothing like Cab9's UK integration list — if your work comes through City Fleet, Minicabit or CMAC today, that is a real migration and we should talk about it before you switch, not after.

Cab9

Cab9

A London-built dispatch platform used by fleets across the United Kingdom, strong on the integrations British operators actually run on.

  • Best for: UK fleets already taking work from City Fleet or Minicabit
  • Best for: operators who want a British vendor and British support
  • Best for: back office work — invoicing, driver pay and record keeping

Consider: nothing about the commercial terms is public — no price, no billing basis, no tiers — and a private hire operator holds an undisclosed stake. Cab9 says it "will remain an independent entity, directly managed and separately governed by its own board", and its founder still leads it as a significant shareholder.

Deep Dive

Four Differences Worth the Detail.

A Fleet Sits on the Cap Table

On 3 June 2026 Veezu — a private hire operator running the kind of fleet Cab9's customers run — made a strategic investment in Cab9. Neither company disclosed the size of the stake. Cab9 says it "will remain an independent entity, directly managed and separately governed by its own board", its founder still leads it, and he remains a significant shareholder. What the announcement sets out is the governance; it does not go on to describe how one operator's bookings, pricing and customer records are kept separate from a shareholder that competes for the same passengers. That is a fair question to put to them before signing, and the answer belongs in writing.

BetterTaxi

We sell software and run no taxis anywhere. There is no fleet to keep your numbers away from.

Cab9

Independently governed by its own board, with an undisclosed stake held by an operator in the same market.

No Price, and No Basis Either

Plenty of dispatch vendors quote per deal, and that on its own is normal enough. Cab9 goes one step further than most: there is no pricing page at all, and no statement of what the fee is even charged against — not per driver, not per booking, not a flat fee. So a first conversation cannot start from "is that competitive?" It has to start from "how does this work?", which is a weaker position to negotiate from than most operators realise.

BetterTaxi

Every tier and its limits are on the pricing page, in your currency, before you speak to anyone.

Cab9

A demo booking, then a number. Nothing published to check it against.

There Is No Version You Keep

Cab9 offers no self-hosted build and no source licence, so the platform is rented for as long as you use it and the day you stop paying is the day it stops working. BetterTaxi sells the same platform three ways — hosted from £39 a month, a licence on your own servers from £4,499 once, or the full source from £44,999 once. The licence is the version nobody can reprice, discontinue or sell to somebody you would rather not be a customer of.

BetterTaxi

Hosted, self-hosted or source. The exit is priced and published before you ever need it.

Cab9

Hosted only. Leaving means moving fleet, drivers and history onto something else.

Rides Today, Parcels Tomorrow

Cab9 does taxi and private hire, and does them well. It does not do delivery, shops, parking or bookings, so growing into any of those means a second vendor and a second system. On BetterSuite a shop order marked for express delivery is priced by a live taxi quote and dispatched to the same drivers who take fares, turning up in the driver app as one more job with a pickup and a drop-off.

BetterTaxi

One driver pool, one dispatch, one bill. A ride and a parcel are the same job with different cargo.

Cab9

Passengers only. Anything else is a separate platform beside it.

Cab9 publishes no price and no billing basis: their site has no pricing page and its only call to action is to book a demo, so this page quotes no figure for them. The strategic investment by the private hire operator Veezu was announced on 3 June 2026 by Cab9 itself; neither party disclosed the size of the stake, and the quoted assurance about independent governance is Cab9's own wording.
