Consider: the hosted plan takes 1.9% of each completed fare on top of its monthly fee, so a small fleet doing high-value work can genuinely end up paying us more than TaxiCaller's flat per-vehicle price. The Bill Follows the Fleet

At $28 per vehicle per month, ten cars is ten times that and fifty cars is fifty times it, whether or not the cars are moving. TaxiCaller invites a discount conversation above 20 vehicles, but the shape does not change. Our hosted plan is a flat fee plus 1.9% of what completes, so it follows the work rather than the fleet. Neither shape wins everywhere: a small fleet doing high-value fares can pay us more, and the crossover depends on your own volume — so do the arithmetic on your numbers, not on ours.

There Is No Version You Keep

TaxiCaller has been a cloud dispatch system since 2011 and sells it only that way: no self-hosted build, no source licence, and terms that forbid deriving the source code. That is a coherent product decision, not a flaw — but it means the platform is rented for as long as you run on it. BetterTaxi sells the same platform three ways: hosted from £39 a month, a licence on your own servers from £4,499 once, or the full source from £44,999 once. The licence is the version nobody can reprice or discontinue.

Your Name on the App Costs Extra

The TaxiCaller plan includes a passenger app carrying TaxiCaller's name. Putting your own on it is the next row down, marked "Special feature at an added cost", and no figure is given for it anywhere — their answer is to contact them and place an order. Their published rebranding covers the passenger app; the driver app is described as theirs and nothing is said either way. On BetterTaxi both apps carry your brand as part of the hosted plan, and Apple's and Google's own store fees are paid by you to them.

Longer at It, and Narrower

TaxiCaller has shipped cloud dispatch since 2011 and its own directory lists operators in 61 countries — seven years longer than this platform has been in production, and that counts for something. What it buys is depth in one place: taxi, school runs, paratransit, shuttle and corporate work, all of them moving passengers. Delivery, shops, parking and bookings are not products they sell. On BetterSuite a shop order marked for express delivery is priced by a live taxi quote and dispatched to the same drivers who take fares.
