BetterSuite Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Lume Agency ("BetterSuite," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar technologies across the BetterSuite platform. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. Overview

BetterSuite is primarily an API-based platform with native mobile applications and a web-based admin console. Our use of cookies and similar technologies is minimal compared to traditional websites. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

  • Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website.
  • Local storage / session storage are browser-based storage mechanisms that allow web applications to store data locally.
  • Device tokens are unique identifiers used by mobile operating systems for push notification delivery.

3. Technologies We Use

3.1 Admin Console (Web Dashboard)

The BetterSuite admin console at console.bettersuite.io uses the following:

TechnologyTypePurposeDuration
JWT access tokenLocal storageAuthenticates your session with the BetterSuite API. Required for the admin console to function.Until session expiry or logout
JWT refresh tokenLocal storageRefreshes your access token without requiring re-login.Until session expiry, logout, or revocation
Theme preferenceLocal storageStores your selected light/dark mode preference.Persistent until cleared
Locale preferenceLocal storageStores your selected language/locale.Persistent until cleared

No third-party cookies are set by the admin console.

3.2 API Backend

The BetterSuite API (api.bettersuite.io) does not set cookies. Authentication is handled entirely via JWT tokens passed in HTTP headers (Authorization: Bearer <token>).

The one exception is during Stripe payment checkout flows, where Stripe may set its own cookies on the Stripe-hosted checkout page. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy.

3.3 Mobile Applications

BetterSuite-powered mobile applications (iOS and Android) do not use browser cookies. They use:

TechnologyPurposeDuration
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokenDelivers push notifications to your device. Generated by the operating system and shared with our notification service.Until app is uninstalled, token is refreshed by the OS, or notifications are disabled
Device identifierIdentifies your device for session management and multi-device support.Duration of app installation
Secure token storageStores authentication tokens (JWT) in the device's secure keychain/keystore.Until logout or session expiry

3.4 Tenant-Operated Applications

Tenant Operators may configure their own web applications or websites that use additional cookies or tracking technologies. BetterSuite is not responsible for cookies or tracking set by Tenants beyond the Platform's default configuration. End Users should refer to their Tenant's own cookie policy for information about additional tracking.

4. Categories of Cookies

Strictly Necessary

All technologies listed in Section 3 are strictly necessary for the Platform to function. They are required for authentication, security, and basic functionality. These technologies cannot be disabled without losing access to the Platform.

We do not use any of the following cookie categories:

  • Performance/analytics cookies — We do not use client-side analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) on the admin console or in mobile apps by default.
  • Functional cookies — Beyond theme and locale preferences (which use local storage, not cookies), we do not set functional cookies.
  • Advertising/targeting cookies — We do not set any advertising, targeting, or cross-site tracking cookies.
  • Social media cookies — We do not embed social media widgets that set cookies.

5. Third-Party Technologies

The only third-party service that may set cookies during your use of the Platform is:

ProviderWhenPurposeMore Information
StripeDuring payment checkout (redirect to Stripe-hosted page)Fraud prevention and payment processingStripe Cookie Policy

Firebase Cloud Messaging operates at the mobile operating system level and does not use browser cookies.

6. Managing Cookies and Storage

Web Browser (Admin Console)

You can manage or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings:

  • Clear local storage: Open browser developer tools (F12) > Application > Local Storage > select the domain > clear
  • Block cookies: Configure your browser to block cookies from specific domains. Note that blocking strictly necessary technologies will prevent you from using the admin console.

Mobile Applications

  • Push notifications: Disable push notifications through your device's notification settings (Settings > Notifications > [App Name])
  • Location permissions: Manage location access through your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Location Services)
  • App data: Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data

Opt-Out

Because we only use strictly necessary technologies (no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies), there is no optional cookie consent to manage. If future updates introduce non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. Since BetterSuite does not engage in cross-site tracking or serve targeted advertising, our Platform behaves the same regardless of DNT settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new cookies or tracking technologies. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' advance notice to Tenant Operators. The current version is always available at the URL where this document is published.
